Meztli Kualo- Cosmic Change & the Lunar Eclipse on the Pisces-Virgo Axis
Wednesday Sep 18, 2024
Wednesday Sep 18, 2024
Welcome to the third episode of the Offerings of Copal podcast. In this episode, we explore the recent lunar eclipse from both Western astrological and Anahuak ancestral perspectives. Our journey begins with the Maya and their recordings of eclipses in the Dresden Codex, viewing these events as sacred moments of transformation.
The Mexica's understanding of eclipses as "Tonatiuh Kualo" (the sun being eaten) and "Meztli Kualo" (the moon being eaten) is discussed, highlighting their beliefs about the Tzitzimimitl, star demons or agents of duality. These beings are connected to significant life changes and feminine spirits, bringing much-needed transformations.
We also delve into the current Tochtli Trecena in the Aztec/Mexica calendar, correlating it with the lunar eclipse and its astrological significance. The connection between the rabbit energy of Tochtli and lunar cycles is explored, emphasizing themes of abundance, transformation, and perseverance.
Throughout the episode, we reflect on how eclipses serve as cosmic resets, encouraging personal and collective growth. We also pull some tarot cards to offer guidance and insight as we navigate these transformative times.
Join us as we align with the natural cycles and embrace the winds of change, guided by the wisdom of our ancestors and the stars.
